Chile was amazing!!

From the very north of the country (almost from the boarder with Bolivia) to the beginning of Patagonia on the South.
11 cities and many places around them.
From the place where it rains once a year to the place where it rains 300 days per year. :)

Started my long awaited trip to Chile! Sitting in the airport and enjoying life! NICE to have a gold frequent flyer card.. :)))

long trip ahead of me, just 2,5 hours of sleep behind, but really excited!!! :)

...to Chile! :) time flies... as usual.. and in our situation its really a good point! And it means next week I'm going for a long awaited trip to Chile to visit my husband! :) crazy life!!!
I managed to get almost 3,5 weeks of vacations... so enough time to see "something" in Chile, get a quick view the country I've heard so much about! Really looking forward!!! :)

was looking through some old files in my notebook and came across a small note I've written on 20th of April 2004... interesting to look back and remember some moments and thoughts:

Wow!

What an interesting conversation we had today with Cecilia (Argentina), Emily (Kenya), Kevin (Mauritius) and me (Russia/Sri Lanka J )

It really brought a lot of thoughts and revealed some of them…

We were talking about big companies… and the impact they could have had on society and the world… Its absolutely incredible how much money they’re WASTING just cos they’re being careless and they treat money only as “figures on the paper”… and the bigger the company, the less important becomes extra zero’s in the “FIGURE”… the people got used soooo much to deal with huge amounts that they don’t realize, that the saved money (well, since they were anyway ready to through them away basically) could make such a HUGE difference in some other countries for some people… and THOSE huge companies claim to be sustainable!!

Although as we also agreed, everything depends basically on different individuals and their power, which often used just for personal benefit…

And also it made me think once again, that right now… and generally in the job alike mine, I don’t really do something VALUABLE for others… the impact goes VERY indirectly and only to a certain group of people, who’s life we “ make a little easier”… and this segment is basically only reach and successful people, or at least those who don’t need to think about feeding hungry children, they’re comfortable in their lives and we’re helping them to make their life even more comfortable… but those who really need help… what do we do for them? Me personally???

Is it the kind of job I want to have? To wake up every day and think: “WOW! Cool! One extra washing machine is sold! More money to the company! More money on my account for doing a “good” job and being a part of the COOL company, which makes life easier, which will make my life easier as well”… Yes, definitely, I would like to live a comfortable life as well… but more important MEANINGUL… to know in the end of the day that I made at least a small, but difference in somebody’s life… how to combine it I wonder? How to be able actually to create some impact… and not to get stucked in the political games of the company or among the buggers who use their power only to get what they want…

Another idea was today, that POWER is not necessary a bad thing! Depends how U use it… and if more GOOD people with good intentions would be able to get POWER, there are more chances to improve smth in the world…"

Да, постить у меня последнее доходят руки крайне редко! Но уже хорошо, что вообще доходят. :)

Снова сослала мужа в ~~ссылку~~ в за пределы нашей "великой" родины из-за дурацких миграционных правил.. на этот раз в Киев.. так он у меня весь мир посмотрит, пока будет ждать РнВП.. ну, Индия, Шри-Ланка, теперь Киев, не так уж и плохо! :) одно не радует, одной дома тоскливо как-то... ЗАТО нашлось время написать в ЖЖ... :)
Через выходной поеду его навещать...потом поеду навещать на время отпуска в Чили, где он проведет еще 2 месяца ссылки! Так что предстоят забавные путешествия, что явно положительная часть всего это!

интересно, а что дальше?

Sri Lanka... after 5 years...

It's really great to re-visit dear places after some time... strange and amazing at the same time...
it's been 5 years since I haven't been in Sri Lanka and Im really enjoying being here again! seeing all the old friends, going to the well-known places, visiting something new, what I didnt have a chance to see, introducing my "land like no other" to Nico... doing some crazy things here which is an important and memorable event in our lives (about this Id have to tell more with photos... cos they'd show and explain the things better) and well.. Im really happy things are turning out just the way we planned and dreamed about!!!

There are definitely some news in my life but lately I had no wish to write anything about it… I don’t even remember when was the last time I’ve written something worthy... but anyway.. time is running quickly... this week I have to send my darling to the "escape" and all because of the stupid changes in the migration law which took us by surprise 3 months ago... and as there is no point in crying over the spilt milk...we decided to act and find a solution... so the temporary solution which proved to be the best was the escape to India for 3 months... and the plan says I’m going to visit him during these 3 months..
in the meantime we’ve changed back to the parent’s place, our friends would live in our apartment for 3 months... and then back again to OUR dear place… we’re sick and tired of all the moving, packing, unpacking, etc.. but what to do.. nobody said it would be easy .
Also we’re considering an option of combining the escape with something else, even more special.. and visit my dear land like no other... let's see how this plan works out... the best part is that only the thought of it makes me excited! So let's work on the plan and don't think about all the challenges on our way... I wonder why so many??!! Hm.... well.. there has to be some deep meaning! :) We'll search for it later.. once we're settled and overcome all the obstacles! :)

Скажите, знающие люди, где можно раздобыть адекватного деда мороза для корпоративного маленького мероприятия. Чисто подарить подарки и пошутить немного, то бишь смочь поднять людям настроение.

Мероприятие 29 числа... может, кто-то вызывал? знает, где можно хорошего найти или сам практикут дедоморозные активности???

не успела вернуться из коммандировки с Багам, не успела съездить в коммандировку по всей почти России, как меня обрадывали еще одной коммандировачкой....в Тунис! :)) ничего не скажешь... работка! :)
так что в начале ноября - я там! :)

а у нас в Москве просто неприличная погода... особенно для некоторых...
эх... и это только начало...

а в понедельник вообще отправляюсь за тредевять земель... начинаю свое путешествие в Уфе, а заканчиваю аж в Улан-Удэ! И что самое интересное, за 8 дней коммандировки - посетим 12 городов, включая:
Челябинск
Магнитогорск
Заречный
Каменск-Уральский
Ханты-Мансийск
Тюмень
Белово
Омск
Новокузнецк
Красноярск

короче, не соскучишься...

если кто-то будет в этих городах в промежутке с 15 по 23 сентября - готова рассказать, где и во сколько меня искать! :))))))

quess what??

almost 1,5 years has passed... and it means that... this friday Id be already back home after my fantastic mexican advanture!!!

Right now - one huge confusion in my head... as the day of departure approaches... the confusion, excitment, worry grow... but things would be just fine!! Lots of changes! But all of them are really excellent and positive!!!! That's the most important!!!

Last couple of things to finish at work... and Im leaving the office to spend the next 2 days on packing, finishing things and preparing for everything that awaits me in the future!!!

So... look for me in Moscow!! :)))

countdown of the days in Mexico....

the time goes just way too fast... and guess what... less than in 3 weeks Id be at home... probably just in about 2 weeks, everything depends on work and my bosses... but whatever it is... a couple of days wont make a big difference... the fact is: I AM LEAVING MEXICO... and as usual it's a shock... a surprise.... something which is difficult to realise... cos Ive spent in Mexico more than a year... and it's been simply great! Really enjoyed every bit of it... that's why leaving is becoming even more difficult for me...

and as I wrote to my friend: "it's almost the end of my traineeship.. and less than a month left for me to be back home.. well.. it's bloody hard... changes are never easy... and although i have something certain in Moscow, still its going to be a great change.. and the fact that it is sooooo soon makes me panic a bit.. well.. its exciting... a mixture of being scared and looking forward for the new things!!

And as always I know that things appear more scary before they happen.. and once the changes happen.. u just live it and adapt to it.. so it's not scary anymore... but now id have to leave my comfort zone.. and start a new, basically adult life...haha.. sounds crazy... but well.. just celebrated my birthday.. so indeed getting older... "

Las week was very busy, so I guess I didnt have time to feel panic anymore and kind of felt much calmer.. ALMOST psicologically ready to go... I just hope to know about the exact date at least 1 week in advance to be able to finish everything, hug everybody, pack my life of 1 year in a couple of bags... and go with a good feeling! :)

2nd birthday in Mexico... but what a difference!! :)

Truely enjoyed the day!

Lately, I feel quite lazy writing anything in the LJ. And well, not that many things are happening... I mean no big trips or something alike.. but at the same time we do enjoy weekends, we do go out and do things... so probably some of them are worth mentioning!

Like for a example, the concert of the music of Tchaikovsky yesterday in the theater Ive never been before. It was really a great experience! Enjoyed it really much!!! And I really felt happy and proud that my friends also liked it A LOT.. they were impressed with the music of our famous composer! Lovely! :)

What else? well, we've spent the saturday afternoon in the studio recording a couple of songs of Nico's band.,.. it was fun! :) especially when they started playing with the recorded voice and make it sound like a little bug singing or on the contrarary very low.... but the best part I guess was when they turned the song up side down.. so it sounded like arabic... we couldnt stop laughing!!! :)))))

well... we have the raines started... so now it's a must to have my "beach" slippers in the bag... like this I can always change my normall shoese, make my trousers higher and cross any river.... and mind you... here we do have real rivers when it rains a lot... sometimes it can reach the knee level!!! :)) crazy!! :) but well... if you're in the house or in some nice restaurant it can actually feel romantic! :))))

In the last couple of weeks we've seen Shrek3 and Ocean 13... not bad at all.. in the nearest plan is Ratatoille.... hm.. not sure it is like that in english though... but we've been really recommended to see it!! So I guess next weekend!!

Ahh... and finally Im reading again!!! Almost 1 year without proper reading... ohh, Ive been missing it! My english housemate lent me a book "The other boleyn girl" and it turned out to be a book you can't stop reading... I like it a lot so far... so looking forward to coming back home today and reading it!!! :))

and the last but not least, we do watch a lot of "Friends" ever since Ive gotten all the series... crazy the more we watch the more we want to watch it.. it's like a drug!! hahaha...

ok... I guess still could mention many more things.. but ok...for now it's enough... the rest will be mentioned when I get my writing inspiration back! :)

birthdays at work...

I guess Ive written already that we have a cool tradition in my company of making creative decorations of the work place for the birthday! Well, this week Ive seen some really cool examples of it! :))

On Monday for the HR director people arranged a Hawaii party in her office with baloons as sea, lots of things for swimming, umbrellas with coctails, pictures of the exotic beaches, music like in hawaii and lots of nice food :)

Today there was another cool birthday... nothing special in the decoration, but they closed the eyes of the guy and brought next to him a belly dancer... but what a surprise: when he opened his eyes and saw one of the guys from HR in some beautiful scarfs around his face and clothes!!! It was really fun! :))

I like the atmosphere in the office! :))

and well, I remember once, for one of the people, people arranged a Rancho in his office... brough lots of dry grass, real horse seat and put it above a horse-toy, also many other things which normally cowboys have, cowboy music, etc... that was a cool surprise for the person as well! ;)))

well, what can I say again.. I love my company! :))

PS On thursday came back from Russia... after 1 month of a business trip there... so getting back to my lovely mexican reality! :))

Moscow greeted me with Sun, heat, dear people and enough work not to be bored! :) So far so good...
and as long as Im an "avanturist" as we say it in russian.... I went yesterday and bought tickets for 3 days to KIEV :))) Never have been there (if not to count those 2 hours Ive spent there 6 years ago on the way to Romania), but the main reason is meeting my old good friend from Belgium Florian... just couldnt help missing that opportunity to meet him after 3 years!
So life is active and crazy as usual! :)

just missing my special someone...
